It is almost time for Kid Rock! We are excited as you are for this huge event and can’t wait to see you. Most lodging partners are taking steps as a property manager to increase the safety of all our guests, and while they may be an inconvenience, they are for everyone’s benefit. Down below, find all the info you may need on Golf Carts, Ferries, Alcohol, Chairs, Put-in-Bay taxis, etc.
The island takes security and safety precautions seriously to ensure that everyone has a safe, enjoyable time while staying with us. The Bash on the Bay concert is a great opportunity and we want everyone to have a fun, and safe, visit to Put-in-Bay!!
You may have more questions about what is going on for the Kid Rock Day of the Concert, so here are some reminders and information to help you:
Safety and Security – There will be numerous horses and drug/bomb dogs as well as 100 deputies and 200 security personnel in and around the event to keep Put-in-Bay guests safe. The Sheriff will cover the entire Township. The Village will have 30 officers on duty. Private security will be patrolling the Island Club and Put-in-Bay Condos. Downtown hotels will have their own security in place.
“Kid Rock” is not his real name! His real name is Robert James Ritchie, or “Bob” to his family.
Late Night Ferry – Distance from Ferry: 1/4 Mile to Miller Ferry. 1.5 Miles to Jet Express. Bus transport available for fee to Downtown Depot near Jet-Express
– Miller Ferry will be running their ferries approximately every 20 minutes after the show ends until roughly 1 AM or as needed.
– Passenger Tickets can be pre-purchased at the Catawba Ticket Booth or Online at MillerFerry.com
– Jet Express is running by reservation only. 2800 reservations to date. Possible more available day of concert or Online at Jet-express.com
– No Kelleys Island Ferry, check with Kelleys Island Chamber for private charters.
Road Restrictions – Langram Road Restrictions on August 29th from Put-in-Bay Road to Meechen Road starting at 2:30pm until 30 minutes after the Kid Rock concert concludes (approx 10:30pm). Put-in-Bay Ohio will be very busy so stay safe!
Gates Open – 2:30pm (according to Bashonthebay.com)
First Act – 3:00pm
NFL Bag Policy – All clear 12” x 6” totes or smaller ( policy can be found here http://www.nfl.com/qs/allclear/index.jsp )
No Outside Alcohol – No alcohol can be carried into the Kid Rock venue!
Food, soft drinks, water, and alcohol – These items will be available for purchase inside the venue.
Everyone will be searched!
Golf Cart Parking – Parking is located at the south end of the runway. There is a $5 fee to park your golf carts which will be donated to charity. Check out available Put-in-Bay Golf Cart Rentals.
Taxi/Buses/TourTrain – Only public transport vehicles are allowed on Langram Rd, which has restricted areas during the concert. Sheriff will be on north end of Langram enforcing speed limits.
ATM – Machines on site.
Kid Rock is 48 years old. He was born on January 17, 1971, in Romeo, Michigan… only a 3 hour drive from Put-in-Bay Ohio!
Chairs – In Section B only, bring your own.
Wifi/phone – Please print off tickets prior to getting to venue. Limited access to internet. Amplex is WIFI Secure Network Provider. No public wifi is available.
No Readmission – No exceptions!
Did You Know… A self-taught musician, Kid Rock plays every instrument in his backing band!!!
Handicapped Access – South Gate by stage. Handicapped ticket holders are requested to call prior to concert.
Weather Plan – In case of bad weather we have a plan, rain only will not delay the concert. If lightning is forecast, a decision will be made 1/2 hour prior to the predicted storm. Relocation to downtown venues is suggested. If the concert resumes, WIOT-FM 104.7 is the source for public information. Check out our Put-in-Bay weather page for updates!
