5. Skip Stones in Lake Erie
The Scheef East Point Nature Preserve offers over 8 acres of pristine Lake Erie Island shoreline. Here, visitors can enjoy a walking trail, shoreline fishing, and a serene setting. Oftentimes, migratory birds can often be spotted here.
6. People Watching Paradise
The island of Put-in-Bay has long been a melting pot of fun-loving people. Hence, there are some exceptional people watching opportunities. So, just plop down on a bench surrounding the downtown area and before long the magic happens.
7. Visit Perry’s Monument Visitor’s Center and Grounds
Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial is the most striking feature of the island. The grounds offer lakefront walking paths and ground views of the tower. However, there is a fee to go to the top. Still, the Visitor’s Center offers an informative and free insight into Oliver Hazard Perry and his men.

DeRivera Park is surrounded by the downtown Put-in-Bay area. Here, guests can enjoy multiple playgrounds, picnic areas, and paved walkways. Also, a bathhouse provides a comfortable stop for the whole family.
9. See A Ship House
Captain Alfred Parker Park is a Put-in-Bay Township Park. So, head to the very end of this park, and visitors can see the Benson Ford Ship House. This home was once a freighter owned by Henry Ford, converted into a home. However, tours are not available.
