PIB Ohio Fishing

South Bass Island is a prime spot for anglers so print out a fishing guide, grab your fishing gear, study up on those Western Basin fishing reports, and hit the boat ramps because you have some huge Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, and Lake Erie perch to catch! If you don’t have your own boat, you can take a golf cart to the South Bass Island State Park where rentals are sometimes available. If not you can always check out a charter like the Put-in-Bay Charter Fishing Service with Captain Bruce or Char-Tom Sport Fishing Charter. Need to print out your State of Ohio fishing license? No problem! Head to Wharfside next to the Boardwalk where they can print it out. The United States Coast Guard patrols PIB the same way they would patrol somewhere like Cleveland’s waters. The U.S. Coast Guard works in tandem with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to police Lake Erie fishing.
