South Bass Island Lighthouse
The 119-year-old South Bass Island Lighthouse, which Ohio State University acquired from the federal government in 1967, has been restored. It is being made available by the university for weddings and other special events starting in 2017, Chris Winslow, interim Ohio Sea Grant and OSU Stone Laboratory director, said. The History of Oktoberfest
Crown Prince Ludwig, who was later to become King Ludwig I, was married to the Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on October 12th, 1810. All of the citizens of Munich were invited to attend the wedding festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event.
