Now, for some more directed advice. You will need to think about narrowing down your number to something more specific before you start your booking, because your options will be very different depending on whether your number is 6 or 12. Hotel rooms generally only sleep 4 people (so you will need to book a bunch of rooms), the brand new waterfront condos sleep up to 12, and vacation rental homes can sleep up to 16 girls comfortably. All of the hotels are downtown and walking distance to the “strip”, so you are a part of the party whether you like it or not. Rental houses and waterfront condos though are all over the island and may or may not require a taxi to get back and forth, but have beautiful views and more amenities and your own private space to share fun cakes, decorate, and have “entertainment”.
One of our favorite hotels is the Commodore Resort because it has a good variety of rooms (including suites that sleep 6, and poolside rooms), it has a pool (and waterfalls) with the island’s best pool bar as a good starter for the day, is walking distance to the other hotel pool bars (which get way crowded) and located right in the very middle of downtown, and is relatively peaceful in the evening if you want to actually sleep at night (but hey, who does this at Put-In-Bay anyway?!?).

One of our favorite rental units is the brand new Put-in-Bay Waterfront Condos which is located behind the airport right on Lake Erie with beautiful views of the water. They sleep up to 10 or 12 girls, have a nice shared patio to play yard games and drink beverages during the day. There is also a large private pool and pool deck that you can take your own drinks to (no bar license) and enjoy the sunshine. Later on, catch a taxi to go down to the strip at night to go bar hopping.

The most important thing to remember is… have fun! And book early. Weekends fill up FAST for the larger hotel suites/condos and homes. Some weekends are actually nearing sold out from what we have been told.
