Port Authority News
The Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority would like to thank all who voted to support the Port Authority Tax Levy. The Board works diligently to use the local tax dollars efficiently for all 3 Bass Island Airports.
The Port Authority has received the Grant for the new Put-in-Bay Terminal from the FAA. The project timeline start date of March 25th, 2024, weather permitting and to allow Miller Ferry to start their 2024 running season. The terminal has asbestos that needs abatement before the demolition of the existing terminal. The abatement will begin March 18th, 2024, again weather permitting. The contractor AA Boos will prepare the site for demolition, excavation, foundation, and construction. The terminal will be completed by September 29th, 2024, and will be operational and functional by Oct. 25th, 2024.
There is a mobile office already positioned at the airport as the temporary terminal and Port Authority office. The phone number will remain 419-285-3371. If you have business with the Port Authority, please come to the mobile office.
The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Port Authority has approved the construction of a pole building next to the Langram Road hangar. It should be almost completed before the new terminal construction starts. It will be used for temporary guest pilot check-in during construction of the new terminal and Island Air Taxi will lease space in the building for their operation.
The Port Authority requests that all vehicles parked around the terminal to please have them move before March 10th, 2024, due to the construction of the terminal.
