Known for its incredible food, an impressive array of whiskey and bourbon, and beautiful outdoor seating, The Goat Soup & Whiskey is a destination spot on Put-in-Bay.

The Goat puts pride and love into everything they make. With three gardens onsite, they use the freshest of fresh ingredients, from basil in their Basil mojitos and tomatoes on their crostini. Everything is top-notch!

Fresh doesn’t begin to describe the perch used in their famous perch tacos. Caught fresh daily, the perch goes from Lake Erie to your plate in less than twelve hours. These delectable tacos are served with crispy fried Lake Erie perch wrapped in a flour tortilla with shredded cabbage, cheese, green onion, and “pali wali” secret taco sauce.

They also make their soup from scratch every day, as the restaurant’s name implies. Every day features a new and delicious soup!

Testimonials

Kim H: “We had a lovely dinner on the upper patio of the Goat. I had their famous fish tacos and a mint Mojito! Both were incredible. Many of their garden vegetables are grown right in their backyard and our food was fresh and delicious. If we had time, we would have gone back for more dinners there. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this restaurant choice. It is located above the Chocolate factory and next to the Biergarten if you want to sit and enjoy some beers before dinner. How can you go wrong? Prices were moderate.”

Sam S: “We spent all day riding bikes around the island and w stopped in for an early dinner because we were starving! The perch tacos were delicious and the seafood platter with walleye was out of this world. The soups are the best, and the tomatoes and basil fresh from the garden tasted like candy. Desserts are worth writing home about and they keep adding new soups and desserts to the specials chalkboard as things run out and new items replace them. The Biergarten and chocolate shop is terrific, and the atmosphere is so chill! I wish we were not leaving tomorrow. This place is perfect.”

Betsy A: “This is one of the few restaurants in Put in Bay that serve a variety of homemade food. The menu is extensive and everything is homemade. The caesar salad is one of the best I’ve had and the scallop pasta with homemade pesto sauce was perfect. They even have escargot which was a treat. It was very good with good garlic bread. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. Outdoor patio seating available with good ambiance. Jack our waiter was very nice, patient, and informative. I Will most definitely go back and I do recommend this place.”
