Traffic Laws on Put in Bay Ohio
Golf carts on Put-in-Bay are registered as licensed motor vehicles, meaning that all of the same traffic laws and road rules apply to them that would apply to your car on the mainland. All persons must be wearing seat belts at all times. All carts are equipped with turn signals, working taillights, and drivers MUST be 16 years of age and have a VALID DRIVERS LICENSE to operate the vehicle.
Here’s the bottom line, golf carts are top-heavy — meaning they can flip over very easily. Don’t let you or someone you know gets hurt doing something stupid. Not only that, but you CAN AND WILL get a real DUI on a golf cart if you are caught driving under the influence. This is a real DUI that will be on your record and follow you off the island. Police at Put-in-Bay are very strict when it comes to drunk driving specifically. Be smart and have a designated driver, take a cab, or walk!!

Put in Bay ferries are located in Port Clinton, Sandusky, and Catawba Island point. The Miller Ferry dock on SBI is located on the west point on Langram Rd. The Jet Express dock comes out right in downtown Put in Bay on Delaware Ave near the Boathouse Bar and Grille and other bay restaurants. As of now, no plans to have ferry service from Cleveland or Toledo are in the works.
