The Weather Looks Great for the Original Official Island Club Fall Ball Weekend & Wine Fest!
October is one of the best months at Put-in-Bay for weekend festivities! We kick it off the first weekend of October (4-6, 2019) every year with two of the biggest and the best… The Official Island Club Fall Ball Customer Appreciation Party and the Put-in-Bay Wine Fest!
The first event is the Original Put-in-Bay Fall Ball Party held at the Island Club Home Rentals and co-sponsored by the Commodore Resort. This street party has been going on for over 20 years now at the Island Club and offers free food, free entertainment, free drink, raffles, and the opportunity to make new friends who come back year after year. For the first time ever, ALL ISLAND LODGING PARTNER GUESTS are invited this year!!! This event has ALWAYS been held at the Island Club and will continue to be held at the Island Club!
On the same Oct 4-6 weekend, our second event is the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce Wine Fest held at the Put-in-Bay Winery. It is an all-Saturday event starting at 11:00 AM and ending around 5:00 PM. So whether you like beer, wine, or both, you will find something that you like at Put-in-Bay this fun-filled weekend.
Oktoberfest is the following weekend and the Put-in-Bay Halloween Bash closes the season on October 25th weekend. Come on up and visit us while the weather is still amazing! We would love to see you at Put-in-Bay Ohio.
The Original Official Put-in-Bay Island Club Fall Ball Customer Appreciation Party
The 21st Annual Put-in-Bay Fall Ball is a 2-day celebration sponsored by The Island Club Home Rentals. This Put-in-Bay party is designed to thank you, our guests, for choosing to stay with us on the Island. Island Club Rentals, Commodore Resort, Put-in-Bay Condos, and Victory Station Hotel guests are invited to join in on the fun and take part in this Put-in-Bay tradition. And this year, we are now inviting all Weekend Island Lodging Guests at our other lodging partners. Come on over and have fun! The main site of the Fall Ball extravaganza is in the Island Club at the new Pavilions located behind the pool. A stage, tables and chairs are set out for you to party under the Put-in-Bay sun. Each year we proudly offer some of the finest Put-in-Bay entertainers. The Fall Ball Party in the past has had appearances from Mike “Mad Dog” Adams, Ray Fogg, and Bob Gatewood from the Calabash band. For many years, Put-in-Bay’s Fall Ball has enjoyed the musical stylings of J.D. Owen and other Island entertainers such as Moving to Boise and the Poptart Monkeys. This year’s band is called Karma Committee.
Fall Ball Schedule
This two day event starts on Friday with a meet and greet at the Island Club with live Put-in-Bay entertainment with JD Owen and beer. Here you can enjoy an icy cold beer from the draft truck and enjoy some live entertainment around a fire pit. As dusk nears, the party moves to Mr. Ed’s Bar and Grille to continue the night in beautiful downtown Put-in-Bay.
On Saturday the fun begins again back at the Island Club on Put-in-Bay Rd., with more great music and beer. We fire up the grills and prepare juicy burgers, brats, and hot dogs to enjoy on Saturday while listening to more great Put-in-Bay entertainment from Karma Committee. There are also firepits set up around the perimeter to provide warmth and ambiance during the Fall Ball party.

Getting to Put-in-Bay
The Jet Express offers passenger service between Put-in-Bay, Port Clinton, Sandusky, Kelleys Island and Cedar Point. Adult tickets are $33 round-trip from Port Clinton to Put-in-Bay. Kids, 6 to 12, pay $6. Kids 5 and under ride free. Sandusky to Put-in-Bay discounted round-trip adult rates are $39.50 and $11.50 round-trip for kids 6 to 12. Jet Express drops off right in the heart of downtown Put-in-Bay and offers exclusive late-night service. Safe and secure parking available at their mainland locations.
Miller Boat Line operates four passenger/car ferries to Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island from the tip of Catawba (off SR 53). Miller Ferry provides the most frequent trips to Put-in-Bay (daily, every half hour during the summer until 9 p.m.), budget fares (Put-in-Bay Adult: $7.50), and five free parking areas. Miller Ferry is the only ferry service that provides both passenger and vehicle service to Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island; motorcycles and bicycles are also welcome.
The Annual Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce Wine Fest
Sample foreign and domestic wines and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of food and excellent wine. Join us at The Put-in-Bay Winery at the Doller Estate on Bayview Avenue from 11:00am – 5:00pm. The event is sponsored by the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center. Admission is $10 and it includes a souvenir wine glass and $4 in sample tickets.
Additional sample tickets will be available for purchase for $1.00 and most of the samples are in the $2-$5 range. Winery tours will be available and a large silent auction to benefit the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society will be some of the activities.
Founded in 2009, The Put-in-Bay winery includes a winery exhibition, party gazebo, a wine garden, and a boutique store. They offer a variety of dry and sweet wines, all complex in their own ways. The wine tours and exhibitions are informative and enjoyable. Each tour of the estate begins with a taste of the Put-In-Bay Winery’s Celebration, a sparkling Moscato. The tour continues to the Main Parlor with a tasting of Merlot. Then the Historic Ice House explains the importance of Valentine Doller’s ice business as visitors enjoy a tasting of the Put-In-Bay Riesling. Come for the Put-in-Bay Wine Fest and stay for a tour.
