‘Saturday Night Live’ Announces
Addition of Molly Kearney as Cast Member
Actor and comedian Molly Kearney, a Cleveland native and Magnificat High School graduate, recently joined the cast of Saturday Night Live as it begins its 48th season. Molly is familiar to many islanders as they not only worked many summers on Put-in-Bay at the Boardwalk, the Goat and The Forge, but also performed standup comedy at the Fishbowl and Reel Bar before leaving the island to follow the dream of making it to the big time.
You may have seen Molly in Amazon’s A League of Their Own, The Mighty Ducks on Disney+, and in 2019 in Comedy Central’s Up Next showcase.
Harvest Fest – Saturday, Oct. 15th
Don’t miss the opportunity to have some fun and help support the Woody Widmar Harvest Scholarship on Saturday, October 15th, at Das Lokal, the Biergarten at the Goat. Plan now to enjoy some polka music, a bite to eat and some great imported beer (or Bier if you’re German or Austrian).
Park Levy Yard Signs
With election day fast approaching on Tuesday, November 8th, you can help by putting out a levy sign in your yard to support the 1.1 mill levy for the Put-in-Bay Township Park District on the November 8th, 2022, ballot. The tax levy is extremely important in continuing the preservation and conservation of areas that preserve the treasurers of the Lake Erie Islands. If you would like to support the levy by placing a sign in your yard, just contact Stacey Clink at friendsofpibtpd@gmail.com.
Harley Trike Raffle Delay
Island resident Woody Widmar graciously donated his 2003 Harley Davidson Fat Boy to the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Dept. and EMS to be auctioned off. Raffle tickets are $100 each with a limited number of tickets to be sold. The announcement of the winner was suppose to be at the Clam Bake on September 17th, but this was changed so all the tickets could be sold. The winner will now be announced at Woody’s Harvest Fest scholarship fundraiser at the Goat Biergarten on Saturday, October 15th. You can still purchase tickets from any member of the PIBVFD. Buy your tickets now!
New Webcam on Top of Monument
The team from Putinbay.com, Jeff Butcher, Kris Hodgson and the Put-in-Bay Chamber recently announced the newest camera to their current family of four (Boardwalk Cam, Mr. Ed’s Cam, Shiphouse Cam, and Condos Cam)….one on the top of the Monument! It took a year of hard work and preparation, 80% by Superintendent Barb Rowles. From the top of the Monument timelapses, slide shows, facebook lives, custom tours and a host of other new features should help put Put-in-Bay in the best light and compete with the growing use of tourism cameras.
