At the Chocolate Cafe and Museum Gift Shop, you can get some souvenirs from your visit to the Chocolate Museum, including (it should go without saying) tons and tons of chocolate! Satisfy your sweet tooth and take some home for your friends. There’s even an opportunity to take a picture with Lucy from I Love Lucy in its famous Chocolate Factory episode. Fine chocolates and coffee, as well as over 30 flavors of ice cream, are available. You know that you won’t get your fill of chocolate in the short time that you’re at the Chocolate Cafe and Museum, so take a bunch more home with you! There’s also plenty of non-edible memorabilia that you can show off when you get back home.
If you need a snack other than chocolate to power you through the afternoon, the Chocolate Cafe has you covered there too. Muffins, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches are all available, prepared with care by the Chocolate Cafe staff. And if you need a caffeine boost, their coffee is made from beans ground daily. It’s the freshest coffee on the island, and exactly what you need to re-energize your day!
Nearby the Chocolate Cafe
If you’re ready for something more substantial to eat after your visit to the Chocolate Cafe and Museum, you’re in luck. You’re literally in the same building as Goat Soup and Whiskey, Put-in-Bay’s marquee fine-dining destination. The perch tacos are a specialty, caught THAT DAY from Lake Erie. It doesn’t get fresher than that. There’s also filet mignon, duck breast, and seared scallops available as part of their expansive dinner menu. But if you’re looking for something a little more casual, you’re also very close to downtown, where you have a ton of dining options to choose from. Grab a slice of pizza at Cameo Pizza or maybe an island-famous wine-basted BBQ chicken from Chicken Patio. There are so many options that your only regret will be not having enough meals during your trip to hit them all!
Testimonials
Denise L: “Had a wonderful cup of mocha dark latte while the kids enjoyed their creamy ice cream selections. This will be one of my first stops on my next trip to the island!”
Damon J: “Great place for your sweet tooth. We had the 6 layer cake with vanilla ice cream. When we ordered the ice cream Brandon said they were all out, which was sad. Sierra overheard him tell us that. She without hesitation went to the freezer of places to look for more ice cream and there it was! She went over and beyond in my opinion. So fun and pleasant! She is a great young worker.”
Cody C: “Hands down the best mocha I’ve ever had! Definitely a nice stop on a rainy day for our anniversary! Loved the chocolate covered spoons too. It’s a must-visit any time I go back. We love Chocolate Cafe and Museum Gift Shop.”
