Put-in-Bay Earns 2025 Tree City USA Recognition
The Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Put-in-Bay as a 2025 Tree City in honor of its commitment to plant, grow, and maintain trees to benefit the community. To continue its Tree City designation, Put-in-Bay must follow the guidelines, goals and principles of the Arbor Day Foundation: a tree commission, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

Arbor Day VP Praises PIB Tree Commission
“Tree champions like the Tree Commission of the Village of Put-in-Bay are leading the way in a growing movement to shape a better future with trees and action,” said Michelle Saulnier, Vice President of Programs at the Arbor Day foundation. “We’re proud that Put-in-Bay is among the Arbor Day Foundation’s growing network of communities dedicated to creating positive impact through trees.”
The Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA Program is operated in partnership with the National Association of State Foresters and the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service.
