The Old Forge Cafe and Creperie serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A great option on Put-in-Bay, any time of the day! They specialize in crepes, but their menu is extensive and impressive. Every item is carefully crafted with only the freshest ingredients and interesting flavor combinations. They make both sweet and savory crepes. You won’t be disappointed with either one!
The Old Forge Menu Highlights
They whip all of sorts of crepes, some you eat the traditional way with your hands. Others are so chock full of yumminess, you need to use a fork and knife.
The Crazy Sam is filled with chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, and topped with sriracha cream. Make sure to add avocado for a flavor boost. The Fancy Pants Crepe includes smoked salmon, arugula, cheese, and a poached egg. The Raspberry Cheesecake crepe is a great ending to brunch.
The buck doesn’t stop at crepes. Eggs Benedict with prosciutto, breakfast burritos, kale salad with goat cheese, and succulent sliders are just some of their offerings. They always make sure to provide healthy options for those looking for a lighter bite.
The full bar whips up mimosas, mojitos, and really any type of cocktail you desire. A great list of beer and wine are also on the menu.
Tucked away on a side street in downtown Put-in-Bay, The Old Forge is low-key with phenomenal service. There is also patio seating for warm summer days. It’s very close to the Commodore Resort Hotel, Victory Station Hotel, and the Islander Inn. Hooligans and Put-in-Bay Brewery and Distillery are neighbors.
There are so many things to do in Put-in-Bay, from the downtown attractions and restaurants to the destinations a little farther afield like Perry’s Cave and the Wildlife Center. Spend a day or the whole summer on the island!
Testimonials
Joseph P: “Amazing menu that differs from the bar food found on the rest of the island. It’s charming and warm atmosphere also sets it apart. The staff is helpful and attentive, and it is centrally located. But really it’s the food that brought me back multiple times on my stay at Put-in-Bay. Quality ingredients and well-arranged without pretense.”
Kevin B: “When we arrived at Put in Bay we were ready for lunch. After asking a few locals and checking TripAdvisor we chose The forge for lunch. I’m glad we went with the recommendations of everyone else. The food was phenomenal. If you’re a pierogies fan I highly recommend getting an order. The duck wings were amazing and the truffle fries fantastic! Our awesome server even jumped in the picture with us!”
Caitlin B: “This place was a perfect place for breakfast on my trip to Put-In-Bay! They had a variety of crepes from sweet to savory. I had the Forge Breakfast which was scrambled eggs, cubed potatoes, bacon, and toast and it was so delicious. The toast was so fresh tasting and they had an amazing jam to go with it. The group of friends that I was with loved it so much that we ended up going there twice to taste more of their breakfast options! Dog-friendly outside and the service was spot on. A very welcoming atmosphere and very clean. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Island!”
