Canine Athletes Add Some Fun To The Bay This May
We are excited about a new event that is coming to Put-in-Bay this coming May 29th and 30th. It’s the Put-in-Bay Dog Bowl that will be held at McCann Field on Toledo Ave.
The high-energy, fun-to-watch event will feature competitive dock diving, a growing canine sport that showcases trained dogs jumping from a dock into a pool of water in distance and retrieval-style competitions.

DockDogs Organizes This Awesome New Event
DockDogs® features three primary, plus combined, events to test canine athleticism: 1) Big Air®: A long jump event where dogs leap from a 40-foot dock into a 40-foot pool; 2) Extreme Vertical®: A high jump competition where dogs reach for a bumper suspended over the water, starting at 4’6”; 3) Speed Retrieve®: A timed event where dogs jump in to retrieve a bumper from the end of the pool. 4) Iron Dog Challenge: Combines scores from the top three events to determine a versatile winner; and 5) Dueling Dogs™: A head-to-head, side-by-side sprint to a bumper.

PIB Visitors Can Enjoy The Competition!
The Put-in-Bay Dog Bowl is the first DockDogs-sanctioned event to be held on the island. Dogs must be registered competitors to participate. The two-day event will be open to the public, allowing visitors and residents to watch throughout the day.
The competition is held in partnership with DockDogs, a national organization that hosts dock diving events across the United States and internationally. DockDogs competitions are commonly held at festivals and community events, drawing both experienced competitors and spectators.
