A man of many talents, Richard Warren is just one of the local characters that make Put-in-Bay so special. Known for his specially grown giant pumpkin just in time for Oktoberfest and his swashbuckling ways during Pyratefest, Richard infuses his love for the island in everything he does.

As the Great Lakes Tobacconist, Richard recently developed a line of Put-in-Bay inspired cigars. Richard personally blends the cigars himself in order to invoke different parts of the island. Each stogie is rolled by Kilner Boutique Factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic.

The Great Lakes Tobacconist Cigars
  • Island Airlines
  • Miller Ferry
  • Niagara
  • Monument
  • Heineman Winery

Each cigar is a blend of different, premium tobaccos. The Miller Ferry is a nice, mid-body taste due to a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos. Coming in at over 6” is The Island Airlines, the largest of the bunch. This is nice and full-bodied due to a blend with tobaccos from Nicaragua, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.

The mild Niagara is a mix of Dominican and Brazilian. The Monument was just recently developed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the unveiling of Perry’s Victory and Everlasting Peace memorial.

The Heineman Winery blend is a mild mix of 100% Dominican tobacco and made to pair nicely with the Winery’s sweet wine. Known by cigar connoisseurs as a petite pyramid, this cigar lasts over 20 minutes.

The cigars are available for purchase individually or also as a box set. Purchase the gorgeous wooden gift box for a new father or recent graduate. They can found at various businesses throughout the island.
