Ever enjoyed a cocktail on a real firetruck? Thanks to the owners of the Grand Islander Hotel, now you actually can! Right in the middle of downtown Put-in-Bay and on the hotel’s property you can find the Last Resort Engine Company.

The Last Resort Engine Company Info

This 1980’s firetruck known as a “LaFrance Pumper” was placed in the middle of South Bass Island after having the tank removed. The owners then built a deck around the truck to maximize seating availability for the great guests of Put-in-Bay Island.

The truck recycles and re-purposes a lot of firefighter gear such as real fire extinguishers turned into bar stools with turnout gear sourced from local fire departments, Original ladders hanging from the awning, and used fire helmets including one used by the NYFD on 9/11.

A variety of t-shirts are available for sale with pictures of this awesome truck emblazoned on them. There are flat screens TV’s with the game on. The bartenders are super friendly and the drinks are strong. This is a great place for an afternoon drink.

They also have a variety of merchandise available for purchase with images of this very truck on the front or back. They even have flat-screen TV’s for sports and other entertainment!
